Essential Qualifications:
Masters in Mechanical, Chemical or Environment engineering /Agriculture/Renewable energy, Post graduates with some field level experience 1-3 years in handling societal projects.
Scope of work:
1. Develop and contribute to research activities related to renewable energy and energy management in the village/agriculture, such as innovation, scaling up of renewable energy, impacts on livelihood, etc.
2. Contribute to field projects/activities on renewable energy promotion and improved energy access.
3. Assist in organizing workshops/meetings, preparing background documents and other relevant documents for wider dissemination.
4. Contribute to project related activities ongoing in the Extension division, as well as meeting technical and financial reporting requirements for projects.
5. Supporting and/or leading the design of impact evaluations
6. Engaging and/or leading field-based data collection
7. Formatting and presenting data for various reports, including background notes, technical reports and presentation
8. Support in organizing training and workshops for cross learning on Renewable Energy in Rural area.
9. Technical support to identify local low cost technologies/solutions.

Essential Qualifications:Bachelor in Mechanical, Chemical or Environment engineering /Agriculture/Renewable energy, with minimum 3 years of experience in implementing S &T based ssocietal projects.
Scope of work:
1. Field implementation of Renewable Energy technologies in Rural arears.
2. Supervise the project related field activities in the development phase as well as in the installation phase.
3. Engaging and/or leading field based data collection
4. Project Assistant will assist the scientific team of the division using his/her sound technical knowledge and skills.
5. Should be able to work in a team and should be able to perform the task independently in a time bound manner.
6. Any other task assigned by the HoD/Director.

Post: Project Assistant
Job description:
The selected candidate is expected to assist the Principal Investigator in carrying out research and development, testing, data collection and analysis, report preparation and presentations in respect of ongoing research projects in the Bio-conversion Technology Division.
Essential Qualifications:
M.Tech (Chemical/Renewable Energy/Biotechnology or relevant field) or M.Sc (Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Chemistry or relevant field)
Desired Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of analytical techniques, Standard methods for examination of water and wastewater, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, good verbal and written communication skills and Laboratory maintenance.
Two to three years experience in research work and candidates with exposure in field projects will be preferred.
Tenure:
Contractual position initially for a period of one year and extendable depending upon the progress of the candidate.
Remuneration:
Commensurate to merit and experience.

Specialization: In the area of bio-fuels
Essential Qualifications:
PhD in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Enzymology/Microbiology with 6-8 years of rich experience in the field of bio-fuels in R&D Institute or R&D division of any reputable industry on biomass energy/bio-fuel related technologies. Should be able to convert concepts to technologies and able to take implementation projects.
Major responsibilities:
The major responsibilities include:

Strengthen/developing the divisional activities as a part of team

Prepare good quality proposals and bring projects into the division

Guiding project staff/students working in the project area

Implement developed projects in the field/industry

Bringing out good quality publications

Provide consultancies to various stakeholders

Remuneration: Negotiable based on expertise and experience (6.0 to 8.0 lakhs p.a)

RECRUITMENT FOR DST sponsored GSBTM PROJECT
Applications are invited for filling up the following temporary position for the DST sponsored GSBTM project undertaken in the Bioconversion Technology Division of this Institute. The position is initially for a period of 1 Year and tenable only for the duration of the project (maximum up to 3 years). The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:
Project Title: "Next generation bio-lignin nanoparticle synthesis from lignocellulosic agro-residual waste materials using natural deep eutectic solvents" (Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, DST)
Position: Junior Research Fellow (02 Posts )
Qualification: M.Tech in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering
or
Masters degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry with NET/GATE/ or any National level examination from CSIR/UGC/DBT/DST/ICAR
Desirable: Sound knowledge in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic molecules, chemical extraction methods and down-stream processing
Job Profile:
Primarily conduct research experiments relevant to the project as assigned by the Principal Investigator, maintain laboratory workbooks, operate bench-scale and pilot-scale reactors, minimum travelling required for experimentations

Advertisement for project staff
Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Research Associate (01) and Junior Research Fellow (01) in a Indo-Danish joint research project entitled "On-farm demonstration and performance analysis of an off-grid renewable energy driven cold storage", funded by Department of Science &Technology (DST), Government of India.
Brief of the Project
The project aim is to design, develop and demonstrate a hybrid renewable energy-based on-farm off-grid cold storage to address the issues of post harvest losses of horticulture perishable commodities, negative impact of demand and price fluctuation of the products. The project seeks to address the issues in system performance, planning and implementation by exploiting cooperation from Danish project team.
Duration: The project duration is of 3 years (2019-2022). Initial appointment of RA and JRF is for one year,which is extendable up to project completion based on performance.
Emolument: The amount of RA and JRF will be as per DST, Government of India norms.
Eligibility:
For Research Associate:
Essential qualification:
1. PhD in Solar Energy/Renewable Energy engineering with background in Physics/Mechanical/Electrical /Chemical engineeringor
2. Minimum two research articles published in SCI Journals in the area of solar thermal/solar refrigeration.
Desirable:
1.  2-3 years post PhD work experience in the area of solar refrigeration/solar energy technology development.
2. Strong data analysis, interpretation capabilities and experience of writing-up and disseminating research findings.
3. Prior knowledge and experience in programming and working on TRNSYS, MATLAB, PYTHON and ANSYS software
4. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Main duties:
1. Design, develop and execution of experiments, data collection strategies and analysis of data.
2. Any other duties given by the Head of the Research Group commensurate with the level and responsibility of this post
3. Liaise with the academic and industry project partners, policy-makers, practitioners and stakeholders.
4. Prepare papers for publication and make presentations at meetings and/or conferences.
5. Assist in writing progress reports and organizing workshops/meeting to disseminate research output.
6. Assist other researchers in the Research Group (e.g. student, junior researchers and visitors) as and when required.
7. Undertake any other relevant activities that may be agreed with the Head of the Research Group and in line with any Funding Body's rules/regulations.
For JRF:
Essential qualification:
i) M.Sc.(Physics)/BE/B.Tech.(Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA
ii) A valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR-NET qualification.
Preference
(i) M.E./M.Tech.(Mechanical/Electrical/Thermal) with work experience in solar energy research and a valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR-NET qualification.
(ii) Candidate having publicationsin SCI journals.
(iii) Basic knowledge of TRNSYS/Matlab/Python etc.
